Amazon Womyn's Archery Club

Why archery?  Artemis the archer, the ancient deity of womyn and wild places, was the Goddess of the Amazons.  Thus, archery has a natural place in the Amazon Tradition.  It is one of the fastest and most empowering ways womyn can develop confidence in their own physical prowess.

There is nothing like standing with other womyn on the shooting line, gently reassuring and encouraging each other as each womyn learns, and then develops her skill with the bow.  The joy that comes when a womyn steps into her own power, draws her bow, lets her arrow fly, and hits her mark for the first time is awe inspiring. It is also a very meditative practice with spiritual satisfaction.

In addition, archery offers another way for womyn to build their physical capabilities.  Womyn can develop skills with the tools it takes to construct their own bows and arrows.  How much more empowering is it for womyn to hit their target with the equipment they built themselves?  We have seen it happen time and again!
