We Are Strong, Socially Conscious, Smart, Creative, Spiritually Minded, and Magical Powerful Womyn!
Greetings,
Womyn in the Amazon Tradition of Ritual Arts & Magical Crafts are Goddess loving, womyn honoring, tree hugging, dirt worshiping, radical feminists who make no apology for the way we live their lives. Other covens may be more "social" or "party" oriented groups that welcome everyone regardless of whether or not they are a good fit for each other. We are not that kind of coven. Bringing new womyn into a serious working coven is serious business, especially in the current political climate. So we try to share as much as we can about ourselves, and expect the same level of openness from the womyn who inquire about joining us. This is for everyone's comfort and safety. We don't want there to be any regrets or disappointments down the line.
As the priestesses of our coven, it's our job to play magical match-maker for a magical family of sisters. It's our job, along with our Guardian Priestesses to keep all of our womyn safe and to ensure that the coven's energetic flow is maintained as potential new members join us in ritual and other activities, and that our particular values, beliefs, and practices don't cause new womyn to be uncomfortable, or feel like they have to hide their own core values. It's better not to join a family when you know up front that you don't share the same beliefs and values.
Our core spiritual belief is that everything is connected in the web of life, and that everything we do affects it. This means that all of nature (animals, plants, people, the elements, the universe) is connected to, and affected by, everything else that is not natural (religion, politics, economics, etc.). For instance, supporting particular religious or philosophical ideologies has an effect on political ideology (as in the case of radical Christian fundamentalist or radical Muslim fundamentalists having an effect on the political parties in their countries), which affects their economic and military policies, which affects the safety of the planet, animals, plants, water, air, food sources, women, children, elders, people of color, indigenous peoples, LGBT people, men, and everything else in the web of life.
For these reasons, we are all active politically and consider voting an extension of spiritual practice. We are by no means a monolith, as we all have our own passions and personal convictions, but we are all politically progressive and liberal in our leanings. We are highly respectful of our sisters personal convictions. For example, some of our sisters are vegetarians, so our gatherings are mostly vegetarian. We have sisters in recovery, so our gatherings are drug and alcohol free. We have sister who attend Black Lives Matter protests, provide security for LGBT pride events, shielding for women to enter abortion clinics, lead diversity training, and participated in the Women's March on Washington.
Additionally, because we practice a nature based religion we are all very environmentally conscious, and seek ways to mitigate climate change, like putting solar panels on the house and driving EVs or hybrid cars. These are just a few of the ways we try to support our core values through mundane actions while working on them magically as we honor the Maiden, Mistress, Mother, and Matriarchal Goddesses and the stages of womyn's lives.
We are a coven of strong, socially conscious, creative, smart, curious, spiritually minded, and magically powerful womyn who stand strong on our core spiritual values and magical practices. If you are of like mind and interested in joining our coven, or learning more about our magical tradition, please feel free to contact us for more information.
